SET IPTV: Configuration and Activation Methods

SET IPTV is a playlist player for Samsung and LG Smart TVs and Android devices. It does not include any channels. You add your IPTV subscription to it, either as an M3U link or with Xtream Codes login details. This guide covers both methods, how to activate the app, and what to do if something does not load.

What is SET IPTV?

SET IPTV is available in the app stores for Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS) and Android devices. It is easy to set up, uses a fast video decoder and supports both of the common ways to add an IPTV subscription. Many UK users choose it for Smart TVs that do not offer IPTV Smarters or TiviMate.

What you need

A Samsung or LG Smart TV, or an Android device.
Your Xtreme HD IPTV details: the M3U link, or the server URL, username and password (Xtream Codes). Both are in the email you receive after ordering or requesting a free trial.
A phone or computer with a web browser.
An internet connection of 50 Mbps or more is recommended.

Method 1: Add your subscription with an M3U link

Install SET IPTV from your TV’s app store and open it. The MAC address is shown on screen. Write it down.
On your phone or computer, open the SET IPTV upload page and enter the MAC address in the TV MAC field.
Choose the Playlist Link method and paste your M3U link into the m3u URL field.
Complete the “I am not a robot” check and click Send.
Restart your TV and open SET IPTV again. Your channels and on-demand library load.

Method 2: Add your subscription with Xtream Codes

Xtream Codes uses a server address, username and password instead of one long link. It is usually the better choice, because the programme guide loads more reliably and your films and series are sorted into categories.

Follow steps 1 and 2 of Method 1.
At step 3, choose Xtream Code Information instead of Playlist Link.
Enter the server URL, username and password from your email.
Complete the captcha, click Send and restart the app on your TV.

How to activate SET IPTV

SET IPTV gives new users a free trial period of the app. After that, you pay a one-off activation fee to the app developer to keep using it on that TV. This is separate from your IPTV subscription. The fee can change, so check the current price on the activation page.

Note the MAC address shown in the app.
Go to the SET IPTV activation page.
Enter the MAC address, complete the payment and restart the app.

SET IPTV problems and fixes

The playlist does not appear. Check the MAC address you entered on the website. It must match the TV exactly. Then restart the TV, not just the app.
The programme guide (EPG) is empty. If you used an M3U link, set up your subscription again with the Xtream Codes method. The guide usually loads correctly that way.
Channels buffer. Restart your router, use a cable connection if possible, and check that nothing else on your network is downloading heavily.
“Activation required” message. The app trial has ended. Activate the app as described above. Your IPTV subscription is not affected.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn’t SET IPTV load the EPG?

The guide often fails to load with the M3U method. Add your subscription again using Xtream Codes, then restart the app.

Can I use an external player with SET IPTV?

No. SET IPTV only uses its own built-in player at the moment.

Does SET IPTV work on Fire Stick?

SET IPTV is mainly used on Smart TVs. On a Fire Stick, IPTV Smarters Pro is usually easier to install and use.

Do I need to pay for SET IPTV and for my subscription?

Yes. The app activation is a small one-off fee to the developer. Your Xtreme HD IPTV plan is a separate one-time payment for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, with no contract.
